“She thinks they walk among us.”

It happens so many times that we judge someone from the first meeting. We start to assume so many things about them. In some cases, we start hating them without even talking to them. On the other hand, sometimes a psychopath killer would be sitting right next to us and we wouldn’t even notice.

The novel lets you see the world from the perspective of two characters. One, a former detective, who has no purpose left to live and who is thinking about his past unsolved cases, also, whether he should blow his brains out. Other is the killer himself, who thinks he is so careful that he will not be caught ever for his crime, also, who is obsessed with the life of the detective.

The novel carefully builds the scenario to a powerful climax and delivers it fantastically. The characters are well-developed. For the record, we will see the trio, Hodges, Jerome and Holley again in the next novel. But what I liked the most is when the author was writing on behalf of the killer. It is so dark and depressive but on point at the same time.
I’ve heard that the other two books of the series are even better. Can’t wait to get my hands on them.

I gave it a solid 4/5 on Goodreads. You can check out the book here.
