WEEK #21
“You see there, Honey? Daddy operates that big machine over there.”, said James to his 5-year-old daughter, Nikki. It was obvious from her expression that she adored the excavator. She asked her father, “Dad can I drive it?”
James laughed, “You’re too young to do that Honey.”
He noticed the smile on her face fade away. He let out a sigh and then told her, “How about during the lunch break, I let you inside and explain how it works. So that when you’re old enough to drive it you will know all about it.”
Nikki jumped with joy. She sat in a corner, looking at her father running the beast machine, waiting for lunch time.
James saw his watch and without wasting any time went to the supervisor to inform that he is giving his daughter a tour during lunch. When he came back, his eyes were filled with horror.
Nikki was on the hydraulic cylinder of the excavator, right above the ‘KLIEMT’ sign. He rushed on the excavator and brought her back.
He asked her, “Honey, what were you thinking! You could’ve got hurt!”
Nikki said, innocently, “But daddy, it says climb, so I did. See, ‘KLIEMT’ – climb!”
